Mechanical Options

  • Heavy Axle
    Slightly longer to print, but more mass to help it react reliably to puzzle rotation.

Printing

  • All parts can be printed without supports.
  • Use a brim if you have bed adhesion or curling issues.
  • Print the Axle with at least 50% infill. The weight is necessary for it to function.
  • Print two copies of the end pieces - one for each side of the chest.

Assembly

See video for detailed assembly.

  • Test fit parts before gluing.
  • If slats do not slide smoothly, sanding the sides down slightly may help. Silicone lubricant like Super Lube can also help.
  • To avoid accidentally gluing parts that are supposed to move, only apply glue to the bottom frame when closing up the box.
